NEON THURSDAY

Jillian's has The Rocket Summer

The Trent Reznor of wide-eyed, impossibly earnest pop, Bryce Avary wrote, produced, sang and played every instrument on "Do You Feel," the latest disc from his band, The Rocket Summer.

But whereas Reznor's none-more-black repertoire favors dystopia over any signs of daylight, Avary's candy-coated tunes are sunny enough to deepen your tan a few shades.

It's the soundtrack to an endless summer.

See the band at 6 p.m. at Jillian's, 450 Fremont St. Tickets are $14; call 759-0450.
