Nevada high court schedules bond hearing for O.J. Simpson

LAS VEGAS — A Nevada Supreme Court panel will hear oral arguments Aug. 3 on O.J. Simpson's request to be let out of prison pending his appeal in an armed hotel room heist.

Court spokesman Bill Gang says a three-member panel of the state's only appellate court will hear 30 minutes of arguments from Simpson's lawyers seeking his release on bond.

The panel will also hear a separate bond request that same day from lawyers for Simpson co-defendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart.

Simpson is serving nine to 33 years for kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon in the gunpoint robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers in September 2007.

Stewart is serving 7 1/2 to 27 years for his conviction in the case.
