NLV motorcyclist dies in three-vehicle crash in northwest
A 35-year-old motorcyclist died today after he was thrown from his 2006 Suzuki in a northwest valley crash involving three vehicles, Las Vegas police said.
The unidentified North Las Vegas man appeared to be racing a small dark sport utility vehicle on westbound Lake Mead Boulevard near Del Webb Boulevard when the crash happened at 10:42 a.m., police said.
A 1994 GMC Rally Vandura traveling east on Lake Mead Boulevard began to turn left into a shopping center and was struck by the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was thrown from the Suzuki and was run over by a 2002 Honda CR-V. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The unknown dark SUV the motorcyclist had been racing fled the scene, police said.
The crash was the 79th traffic-related fatality this year for Las Vegas police. The collision remains under investigation.
