North Las Vegas corrections officer arrested
North Las Vegas police today arrested a corrections officer with the North Las Vegas Detention Center, alleging she attempted to aid a prisoner escape.
Hollis Salahuddin, 35, was arrested on a felony count of aiding a prisoner to escape and a felony count of forgery by altering, deleting or obliterating computerized data.
Salahuddin, who has been with the detention center for more than three years, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
North Las Vegas police said Salahuddin was arrested following discovery of unauthorized changes to a prisoner’s computer record.
Police allege she forged information on the computer record in an attempt to aid in his escape.
The prisoner was not identified. Police said there is no evidence that Salahuddin’s actions resulted in an escape. Officials said the department has internal procedures designed to thwart such efforts.
Salhuddin will be placed on paid administrative leave.
