North Las Vegas man indicted on murder charges

A North Las Vegas man was indicted on murder charges in the beating death of his wife, Clark County prosecutors said Friday.

Anthony Mayo, 38, was indicted on four counts, including murder, battery, coercion and preventing a witness from reporting a crime in the August 2012 death of Beverly McFarlane.

Mayo attacked McFarlane, 40, in August 2012 at their home in the 4300 block of Matinee Avenue, near Decatur Boulevard and Washburn Road, authorities said.

North Las Vegas police officers learned of the attack two days later and found McFarlane suffering from injuries to her head, neck and abdomen. She was taken to University Medical Center, but died about two weeks later.
