North Las Vegas police arrest five teens in robbery spree

North Las Vegas police arrested five teenagers Wednesday in connection with an hour-long robbery spree.

Officer Chrissie Coon, a police spokeswoman, said four boys and one girl, ranging in age from 16 to 17, were arrested. Their names were not released because they are juveniles. They face charges of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, Coon said.

Coon said police began receiving reports of armed robberies about 1:15 p.m. and caught up with the suspects near Commerce Street and Oak Island Drive, south of Alexander Road.

Coon said police learned the suspects were traveling in a stolen vehicle and confronting other teenagers. Some of the suspects also might be charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, Coon said.

One of the suspects who approached the victims had a BB gun, Coon said. The suspects demanded items such as cell phones, iPods and cash.

Coon said the suspects might be linked to four armed robberies in North Las Vegas and one in Las Vegas.
