Number of registered voters in Nevada falls

CARSON CITY -- Nevada's latest voter registration figures show a drop of nearly 120,000 voters, to a little more than 1.3 million, since the November elections and show Democrats maintaining their advantage over Republicans.

The May registration figures provided by Secretary of State Ross Miller's office show the Democrats' registration edge over Republicans is 109,753. That is down slightly from an advantage of 111,505 in November.

The latest registration numbers show that the 578,863 Democrats account for 44 percent of all Nevada voters, while the 469,110 Republicans account for 35 percent. The remaining 21 percent are nonpartisans and minor-party members.
