One man shot to death, another thrown from window

One man is dead and another is injured after an apparent robbery attempt late Sunday night.

Las Vegas police said officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 2500 block of Poppy Lane near Eastern Avenue about 11 p.m. There they discovered a man deceased from multiple gunshots. Another man was found behind the apartment with a serious leg injury.

Police said the preliminary investigation indicates the deceased victim was approached by two men demanding money. According to witnesses, the suspects then shot the man multiple times and threw the other victim out a second-story window.

The injured victim was in stable condition at University Medical Center, police said.

The identities of the victims were not released this morning.
