One person wounded in southeast valley shooting

One person is in critical condition after a Monday shooting near the Eastside Cannery, Las Vegas police said.

Dispatchers received calls about a person in the area needing emergency medical help about 1:30 p.m. near the 5400 block of East Harmon Avenue, near Boulder Highway, police said.

Arriving officers found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. Police said the shooting followed an altercation.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center, police said.
