Passenger killed, driver injured after car goes airborne
A female passenger was killed Friday when the car she was in went airborne and flipped at an intersection in the south Las Vegas Valley.
Witnesses told police that a Dodge sedan was traveling at a high speed west on Erie Avenue about 2 a.m. and zoomed through a stop sign where the road intersects with Las Vegas Boulevard South.
The car went several hundred feet into the desert before launching into the air and rolling, Las Vegas police said.
The driver, Jason Gallagher, 37, of Henderson was airlifted to University Medical Center and was in critical condition Friday afternoon.
