Person in critical condition after shooting near UNLV

Las Vegas police were investigating a shooting at a park near UNLV that left one person hospitalized in critical condition Sunday night.

Police received multiple calls about gunshots about 6:30 p.m. at Molasky Family Park, near East Twain Avenue at Cambridge Street.

Officers arrived to find a person shot multiple times. The person was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition.

Investigators believe there was an argument before the shooting, a police spokeswoman said. Metro’s gang unit was investigating.
