Police arrest two juveniles for killing kittens as they were born

Las Vegas police arrested two 11-year-old boys Thursday in the deaths of six kittens.

The boys were booked at the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center on seven counts of animal cruelty in the Oct. 9 deaths.

Neighbors in the 9600 block of West Russell Road, near Fort Apache Road, saw the boys throwing rocks against a building at an apartment complex. Investigators later determined that they were throwing rocks at a cat giving birth to six kittens, police said.

The six kittens died.

Clark County Animal Control began an investigation before turning it over to police at the Enterprise Area Command, who made the arrests.
