Police say teen had gun at school
A 16-year-old student is in custody after authorities confiscated a loaded .22-caliber handgun from him at a Las Vegas high school, school police said Wednesday.
Clark County school police Lt. Ken Young said that the student did not make any threats and that classes at Cheyenne High School, near Alexander Road and Simmons Street, were not disrupted during the 11 a.m. Wednesday arrest at a school office.
The boy faces a charge of possession of a deadly weapon on school property.
