Police seek suspects in death of man shot early Sunday

A 22-year-old Las Vegas man died after being shot several times early Sunday near Charleston Boulevard and 17th Street, Las Vegas police said.

The identity of the victim was not released by police. Police did not have a motive for the shooting and were searching for suspects Sunday afternoon.

Police said they received a call on the shooting about 1:35 a.m.

Officers and medical personnel found the man injured. He was transported to University Medical Center where he later died.

Police said the victim was with family when he was approached by three males ranging in ages from 18 to 26. At least one of the men who approached the victim shot at the man.

Police said the suspects fled north on 17th Street where they were picked up a block away in a large auto, possibly a sport utility vehicle.

Anyone with any information about the shooting is urged to call the Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Section at 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
