Police shoot suspect during domestic violence call in northwest valley

Las Vegas police shot a suspect in the northwest valley Thursday night.

The person, who was not immediately identified, was taken to University Medical Center.

Police said officers were responding to a domestic violence call at a home at 3908 Applecrest St., near Alexander Road and Rancho Drive.

The shooting occurred at 10:02 p.m., police said.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately available.

Initial reports that the suspect died in the shooting were corrected by police after midnight. Reports indicated the suspect was in critical condition.
