Presidential candidates plan visits to Nevada on Saturday, Monday
Several presidential candidates are scheduled to visit Nevada in the coming days.
Democrats Bill Richardson and Dennis Kucinich will be in the state on Saturday, while Democrat Barack Obama and Republican Duncan Hunter have visits planned for Monday.
Richardson, the governor of New Mexico, and his wife Barbara are scheduled to attend a mock caucus at Rancho High School in North Las Vegas at 2 p.m. Saturday. They then will attend a house party hosted by supporters in Sun City Anthem at 3, according to Richardson's campaign.
Both events are free and open to the public. The house party will be at 2083 Cambridge Springs Drive in Henderson.
Call the Richardson campaign office at (702) 385-2455 for more information.
Kucinich, a congressman from Ohio, will be in Reno on Saturday, accompanied by his wife, Elizabeth. They plan to appear at Washoe County Democratic Party headquarters at 2 p.m.
Obama's campaign has said the Illinois senator will appear in Southern Nevada on Monday, but no details of the visit had been announced Thursday. Democratic candidates had planned trips West for a debate in Los Angeles on Monday, but the debate has been canceled because of the possibility that CBS' news writers could strike.
Hunter, a California congressman, will make an appearance in Las Vegas at 6 p.m. Monday at a meeting of Secured Borders U.S.A., an organization that opposes illegal immigration.
The event will be held at the Italian American Supper Club, 2333 E. Sahara Ave.
