Property tax bills go out this week
Clark County is mailing property tax bills this week to the owners of more than 729,000 parcels in the county, the treasurer’s office said Monday.
The taxes levied for fiscal year 2013-2014 are pegged at slightly more than $1.4 billion. They include taxes that go to several government entities, including the county, cities, the school district, libraries and other districts.
Taxes are due Aug. 19. But if the property tax bill exceeds $100, the taxes can be paid in four installments.
If a mortgage company has requested the tax bill information for the property, taxpayers will receive a statement of tax distribution instead of a tax bill.
If property owners have not received anything from the county by Aug. 1, they should call the treasurer’s office at (702) 455-4323 to request their bills.
Property owners are expected to pay their taxes on time, even if they haven’t received a bill.
