PUC to rule on NV Energy rate case June 24
April 22, 2009 - 3:26 pm
Public Utilities Commission officials said today that the panel will meet to decide on NV Energy’s proposed rate case at a special agenda hearing June 24.
The hearing will be at 9:30 a.m at the PUC’s local offices, 101 Convention Center Drive, Suite 250.
The agency wrapped up meeting today in the first of a series of sessions debating NV Energy's request for a rate increase.
The commission was hearing recommendations from NV Energy, as well as testimony from the state's Bureau of Consumer Protection and big companies affected by the proposed boost in rates.
This week's evidentiary hearings addressed how much NV Energy officials say it costs for the company to borrow for acquisitions and new projects.
The next session is scheduled for May 4-8 and will cover NV Energy's revenue requirements. The final session, on rate design, is scheduled May 11-15.
The hearings are open to the public. However, members of the public are not allowed to comment on the proceedings. The meetings take place at the Public Utilities Commission's local offices.
