Rain, sometimes heavy, is expected throughout today and into Friday. The National Weather Service is expecting between a quarter and a half-inch of rain today, but a full inch could fall by the end of Friday.

WEDNESDAY

Officially, 0.27 inches of rain fell by 10:30 p.m. while other parts of the valley had up to a half inch. The storm caused some flooding, which forced the closure of the Wetlands Park nature preserve until Saturday. In addition, a 51-year-old man was killed when he lost control of his truck on a rain-slickened road.
