Registration for city camps under way

The city of Las Vegas Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services will hold summer camps at its six neighborhood community centers for younsters ages 6-15. Two of the centers will operate weeklong themed specialty camps through August.
Registration, which opened in March, is available by telephone, online at www.clvbeyondtheneon.com and at the centers that are offering the camps. Registration will continue until camps are full. All camps operate Monday through Friday (except July 4), beginning June 13.
The weekly Kids' Kamps will operate from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Youth will enjoy age-appropriate activities, including sports, games, special events, arts and crafts under the supervision of staff. Participants must bring a sack lunch, drink and snack daily, unless they are attending a food program site. Camps are priced at $75 for the first child for the week and $70 for each additional child from the same household.
The following centers will offer Kids' Kamps:
n Cimarron Rose Community Center, 5591 N. Cimarron Road, ages 6-11 only, 229-1607.
n Doolittle Community Center, 1950 N. J St., ages 6-15, 229-6374.
n Rafael Rivera Community Center, 2900 E. Stewart Ave., ages 6-15, 229-4600.

Specialty Camps
Weeklong specialty camps will focus on a wide variety of specific topics of interest and/or themes with additional activities, guest speakers and/or field trips during each week. Camp hours are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., priced at $115 per week for the first child and $110 for each additional child from the same household. A few specialty camps may have higher prices. Participants will need to bring a sack lunch, drink and snack every day.

Adaptive Recreation Summer Program
The city of Las Vegas will also operate an adaptive recreation summer program Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., for youth ages 7-21 of all abilities, beginning June 13. Priced at $75 per week, the program will be operated at the East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave., while Lorenzi Park is renovated.
