Reno police say 17 of 59 businesses fail in Reno underage drinking sting

RENO - Reno police say almost one-third of the businesses they checked during a weekend underage drinking sting sold alcohol to minors.

Police say they had underage decoys try buying liquor at 59 Reno-area businesses between Friday and Monday. Seventeen stores and bars failed the test.

Funding for the compliance checks comes from an underage drinking laws enforcement grant.
