Reno teacher recognized

RENO -- A Reno middle school teacher who coaxed a student to put down a gun and held him until police arrived was honored in Washington, D.C.

Jencie Fagan, a gym teacher at Pine Middle School, was chosen as one of three national winners for an Above & Beyond Citizen Honor from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.

The group is composed of the 107 surviving Medal of Honor recipients.

Fagan and two other winners were recognized at a ceremony in the nation's capital Tuesday, National Medal of Honor Day.
