In the upper levels of the Regional Justice Center, lawyers often are scheduled to represent a multitude of clients before different judges at the same time.
As is customary, many judges will accommodate lawyers by calling in a row the cases before that judge, even if the cases are out of the scheduled order, so an attorney can scurry off to another courtroom.
That was the situation earlier this week as an attorney asked Judge Donald Mosley if he would hear a second case scheduled in his court.
"It'll be a quick sentencing," the attorney said.
Mosley responded, "How do you know it will be a quick sentence? It might be a loooooooong sentence."

What would the triple word score be for the Iceland volcano if proper names could be used in Scrabble? Let's see. That's Eyjafjallajokull, worth what the Week in Review staff has calculated would be approximately one zillion points. But it might be trumped by the names of a local meteorologist and an atmospheric scientist who were queried about it: Stan Czyzyk and Vicken Etyemezian. By the way, it's pronounced: "ay-yah-FYAH-plah-yer-kuh-duhl," according to The Associated Press.

Jeff Weiler, the chief financial officer for the Clark County School District, speaks with a Southern accent but has become the voice of doom at School Board meetings because all he seems to talk about is budget deficits.
Carolyn Edwards, the board vice president, is eager to hear something else.
"Mr. Weiler, I think we're going to require you to bring some good news some of the time," she said.
Weiler responded, "I would like to; I hope I'm around some day when I can."
Asked to sum up another contentious School Board meeting, board member Chris Garvey stressed the positive.
"Great meeting. You can't get any better stuff on reality TV, I tell you," she said.
