Sandoval names Gaming Policy Committee members

CARSON CITY -- Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval has named members to the revived Gaming Policy Committee, a panel that will advise his office and state lawmakers on technological advances as applied to the gambling industry.

The governor is chairman of the 11-member committee. The chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission and state Gaming Control Board are also members.

Sandoval announced other members Wednesday. They are Boyd Gaming Corp. CEO Keith Smith; MGM Resorts CEO Jim Murren; Sallie Becker of Bomas Grill in Las Vegas; Reno attorney Mark Bruce; and Paul Mathews Jr. of IncuBET in Las Vegas.

State Sen. Valerie Wiener and Assemblyman William Horne were chosen as legislative representatives on the panel. Both are chairman of judiciary panels.

Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Chairman Arlan Melendez will represent tribal interests.
