Scholarship application deadline approaching

The deadline is fast approaching for college scholarship applications to the Public Education Foundation. The local nonprofit has more than $600,000 in college scholarships to distribute, but high school seniors must apply by Feb. 25.

Seniors can apply for more than scholarships, which range in value from $500 to $40,000. Donors include local businesses, organizations and families who award scholarships on a variety of criteria, such as area of interest, academic achievement and financial need.
