‘Scrubs’ actors to help Obama backers in Las Vegas
July 26, 2012 - 5:35 pm
Politics will meet Hollywood on Saturday when two actors from the medical sitcom "Scrubs" will visit Las Vegas to help kick off a voter registration drive for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign.
Zach Braff and Donald Faison, who starred in the TV series, which ran 2001-2010, will join Obama supporters as part of a nationwide push the campaign calls It Takes One. The push will launch 100 days from the Nov. 6 election.
First lady Michelle Obama launched the It Takes One initiative last week. She has made it part of her stump speech, too, saying that registering one more voter may make the difference for the president's re-election.
Obama won Nevada four years ago, but in 2012 is facing a close battle with GOP challenger Mitt Romney.
The two actors will kick off the Las Vegas voter registration drive at noon at the Obama campaign office located at 3440 W. Cheyenne Ave., No. 300, in North Las Vegas.
