Scuba diver who died Saturday identified

A man who died while scuba diving Saturday in Lake Mead has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

William H. Meyer, 52, of Las Vegas was diving with a group near Kingman Wash just north of the Hoover Dam on the Arizona side, according to the National Park Service.

Meyer surfaced at about 9 a.m. from a dive, and was unresponsive, witnesses said.

He was given CPR by passengers on a nearby boat and transported to emergency personnel at Hemenway Harbor in the Lake Mead Recreational Area.

His cause of death is still under investigation.
