Slaying suspect facing death penalty
Prosecutors will seek the death penalty against the man accused of killing his wife's unborn child and boyfriend during a chain saw attack.
Chief Deputy District Attorney Giancarlo Pesci said prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against William Keck, who is accused of killing Jonathan Lestelle, 26, during a November shooting.
During the attack, Keck also shot his wife and killed her fetus, which was between 16 and 19 weeks old, authorities said.
His wife survived.
Keck, 26, used a chain saw to cut a hole in the door of his wife's apartment and fired his gun through the opening, police said.
Keck pleaded not guilty to charges of murder with a deadly weapon, manslaughter of a quick child and other charges during an arraignment in district court Thursday.
He is scheduled to go to trial in April 2010.
