Sparks man, 60, dies after crashing into wild horse

A Sparks man died after he crashed his motorcycle into a wild horse on a road in Palomino Valley north of Reno.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said 60-year-old Adrian Beard was killed about 9 p.m. Thursday on Whiskey Springs Road near Amy Road.

The horse, which was found a few yards away, also died.

Investigators said neither speed nor driver impairment appear to have played a role in the wreck. Rather, they believe the mustang ran out in front of Beard before he had a chance to react.
