State superintendent given another three-year term
The Nevada State Board of Education this morning reappointed state Superintendent Keith Rheault to another three-year term.
Board members were effusive in their praise of Rheault before voting 8-0, with two abstentions, for the appointment.
Rheault, 55, is paid $120,000 a year. This will be his third term.
He directs a department of about 150 employees and handles a budget of $5 million.
The state superintendent oversees kindergarten through 12th-grade education in Nevada, coordinates student testing, and oversees charter schools, among other duties.
