Suicide suspected in death of man found near dam

A man's body was discovered Wednesday morning at Hoover Dam, and officials think he committed suicide.

Police pulled the body from the water near an Arizona intake tower about 7:30 a.m. A car that might belong to the man was found in a nearby parking lot, Bureau of Reclamation spokeswoman Colleen Dwyer said.

The identity of the man will be released by the Mohave County medical examiner's office.

Las Vegas homicide Lt. Lew Roberts said the man killed himself. He had suffered head trauma, officials said.
