Super Bowl line judge a Las Vegas resident

Las Vegas resident and NFL referee Mark Perlman has been named to the officiating crew for Sunday's Super Bowl XLIII between the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers in Tampa, Fla., it was announced today.

Perlman, who began his officiating career with the Southern Nevada Officials Association in 1979 and moved up to the NFL in 2000, will be the game's line judge.

It will be Perlman's second Super Bowl assignment; he worked Super Bowl XL in Detroit between the Steelers and Seattle Seahawks.
