A teenager accused of shooting and killing a 14-year-old Chaparral High School student was indicted this week on murder with a deadly weapon and other charges.
A Clark County grand jury Tuesday indicted Barron Hamm in the May slaying of Jared Flemming, who was shot and killed at his birthday party. Jared was about to turn 15.
The indictment was made public Wednesday.
Authorities said Hamm, 17, was believed to have been trying to rob people at the birthday party.
Hamm shot Jared in the back while the victim was running away from Hamm at the party at his sister's apartment, near Nellis Boulevard and Sahara Avenue, Las Vegas police said.
Hamm is being held at the county jail without bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on July 29.
