Texas man dies in motorcycle crash in Moapa Valley
A 23-year-old Texas man died Saturday night when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a block wall in a residential area of Moapa Valley, police said.
The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was not identified, pending notification of family.
Police said evidence indicates the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed about 7:40 p.m. when it hit a curb, throwing the rider. The accident remains under investigation.
Moapa Valley, a small community northeast of Las Vegas, is in the Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction. This is the 50th traffic-related fatality the department has investigated this year.
