Toddler’s body recovered at Lake Mead

A toddler was found dead at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area on Friday in a possible drowning.

Officials were called about 11:15 a.m. about a missing child near the Las Vegas Boat Harbor, according to a National Park Service spokesman.

Park rangers searched on land and in the water for about 45 minutes before divers found the toddler's body.

Officials did not state the circumstances surrounding the child's disappearance.

The child is thought to have drowned, but the Clark County coroner's office will make the final determination.
