Two adults killed, two children injured in head-on collision

Two adults were killed and two children were hospitalized Tuesday night after a head-on collision between two vehicles on state Route 147.

Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Joseph Fackrell said the accident happened about 8:25 p.m. on a remote stretch of highway about four miles east of the intersection of Lake Mead and Hollywood boulevards.

A Saturn traveling east on Route 147 crossed the center line and collided with a Chevrolet Blazer, Fackrell said.

The man who was driving the Saturn was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, Fackrell said.

An infant girl and a young boy, riding in the back seat of the Saturn, were taken to UMC and are expected to recover, Fackrell said. The boy was the son of the male victim, and the girl was the daughter of the female victim.

The male victim was identified as Natalio Galindo, 25, of North Las Vegas. The female victim was identified as Annica Franco, 19, of North Las Vegas.

The driver of the Blazer, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition.

The driver of the Saturn was at fault, Fackrell said.
