Two indicted in Canyon Springs High School beating

Two 18-year-old men were indicted Friday in connection with the August beating of three students at Canyon Springs High School.

Katario Miller and Nicholas Johnson each face one count of conspiracy to commit a crime, three counts of battery with a deadly weapon on school property, one count of robbery with a deadly weapon, one count of challenges to fight, and one count of possession of a dangerous weapon on school property.

Each of the victims was struck with a firearm at the North Las Vegas school on Aug. 23, according to the District Court indictment. School police said all of the victims attended the first day of school on Aug. 26.

The school is located near Craig Avenue and Interstate 15.

Records show that Miller and Johnson are being held at the Clark County Detention Center. According to the indictment, they conspired with Maurice Harvey and Ardlanders Gibson Jr., who are not named as defendants in the document.
