Two killed in Summerlin crash identified

The two Las Vegas residents who died in a car crash Wednesday afternoon on the Summerlin Parkway have been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Savanna Gonzales, 20, and Frank Anthony Spenia III, 31, were killed in a head-on crash with a pickup about 4 p.m. The two were traveling east in a Toyota Corolla on Summerlin Parkway when a westbound Chevrolet pickup crossed the median near Rampart Boulevard and struck the Corolla.

Gonzales and Spenia were pronounced dead at the scene. Their official causes of death were still pending.

The driver of the Chevrolet was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. Highway Patrol trooper Loy Hixson said alcohol might have been a factor in the crash.
