Two killed, one injured in head-on collision

Two people died in a head-on collision this morning on state Route 160 in Pahrump, forcing traffic to be diverted while crews cleaned up the crash, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred at 9:39 a.m. near Mesquite Avenue, where NHP Sgt. Kevin Honea said a Honda sedan collided with a Pontiac minivan. One of the cars rolled before coming to a stop.

Two people in the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene. Honea said a third victim was being airlifted to University Medical Center.
