Two people injured in knife scuffle at dorm at UNR

RENO -- Campus police at the University of Nevada, Reno, are investigating a dormitory scuffle over a pocket knife that left two students with hand injuries.

UNR police Chief Adam Garcia said Friday that a simmering feud between the two male students escalated a little after 10 p.m. Thursday into a hand-to-hand struggle for a knife that one of them brandished in a common area at Argenta Hall.

Garcia says both students were treated for hand wounds at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center and released.

Their names weren't made public. Neither was immediately charged with a crime.

Garcia says other students in the seven-story building witnessed the scuffle. Argenta Hall houses more than 500 students.
