Two people killed in crash 50 miles east of Kingman

KINGMAN, Ariz. -- Two people were killed Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 40 about 50 miles east of Kingman.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety identified the victims of the 4:08 p.m. crash as Eva Marie Mason, 42, of Lake Havasu City and Marvin McDaniel, 77, of Blythe, Calif.

McDaniel's vehicle was traveling east in the westbound traffic lanes when it collided with the oncoming vehicle in which Mason was a passenger, police said.

The driver of the second vehicle, Lyndon Mason, 46, and another passenger, Nathaniel Mason, 11, were discharged Wednesday after treatment for their injuries at Lincoln Hospital in Phoenix.

Leleh Mason, 13, remained in serious condition at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
