Utah man dies from injuries after being forced off I-15

A Utah man died several days after swerving to avoid a vehicle drifting toward his car on Interstate 15 in Nevada.

Nevada Highway Patrol officials say 68-year-old John Rygh of Hayden, Utah, died from his injuries Tuesday night at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.

Authorities say Rygh was driving northbound on the interstate near mile marker 98 about 8:30 a.m. Saturday when an unidentified vehicle passed his Kia.

The vehicle then drifted into his lane and forced Rygh to turn to avoid a collision.

Rygh's car drove into the desert area and overturned. Troopers say the drifting vehicle fled the scene.
