Vote delayed on teachers union contract
June 26, 2009 - 9:00 pm
A vote on a one-year contract extension with the teachers union will wait until at least August.
The Clark County School Board did not take up the contract for a vote Thursday, as it is waiting for the membership of the Clark County Education Association to ratify the proposal, which is not expected to happen until then.
The tentative agreement would preserve teachers' pay raises based on longevity and education but would not include a cost of living increase.
