WEEK IN REVIEW: Reporters’ notebook

Clark County School District Superintendent Dwight Jones probably thought participating in the Martin Luther King Jr. parade on Monday would be a controversy-free exercise in community participation.

That is, until a stall in the parade left Jones a sitting duck in a convertible.

"Smaller classroom sizes!" one parade spectator yelled.

"Pay teachers more money!" another shouted.

"More jobs! Hire more custodians!" yet another called out.

Jones just smiled and kept on waving as the crowd tittered and offered him advice on how to run the nation's fifth-largest school district. Bet he loves a parade.

For porn stars, stalking is a common occupational hazard, and during the recent AVN convention, Stormy Daniels appealed to a Review-Journal reporter for help with her bit of unwanted attention.

When the reporter approached her for an interview, Daniels began complaining that the newspaper won't stop calling her to renew her subscription.

She said she canceled it because she moved away from Vegas, but she can't seem to get her number on a do-not-call list.

Some porn stars were actually trying to keep their clothes on during AVN.

While Las Vegas resident and adult performer Taylor Stevens was doing an interview, she had to enlist help from another performer, Jessica Drake.

Stevens' breasts were too heavy for the dress she was wearing and kept falling out during the interview. Drake, though, came to her rescue and held her dress up so she wouldn't spill out.
