Witnesses say man got out of truck with clothes on fire

A man in his mid-40s was critically burned Friday night near Valley View Boulevard and Alta Drive.

Las Vegas firefighters arrived at the parking lot of Larry's Great Western Meats at 420 S. Valley View Boulevard at 7:49 p.m. to find a man with his clothing on fire.

Witnesses told fire investigators the man appeared to be sleeping in a truck outside the store, which was closed, according to the fire department.

The man then suddenly got out of the truck, his clothing on fire. Little damage was done to the truck. The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the fire department.

The man, who was not identified, was taken to University Medical Center with burns on 50 percent of his body.
