Witnesses say man killed by car was outside crosswalk
A pedestrian was struck and killed as he tried to cross Tropicana Avenue at Decatur Boulevard just before midnight Friday, Las Vegas police said.
The victim, a 35-year-old man, was transported to University Medical Center, where he died. His identity was not immediately released.
Witnesses said the man was outside the marked crosswalk when he was hit by a 2003 Lexus traveling east on Tropicana, police said. The accident was reported at 11:41 p.m. Friday.
The driver of the car was identified as Euijoon Lee, 49, of Las Vegas.
Police said the fatality was the first traffic-related death in the Police Department's jurisdiction in 2013. The incident is under investigation.
