Woman accused of driving through scene of fatal crash

Police arrested a 25-year-old woman who drove through the scene of a vehicle crash that left an officer dead early Thursday.

Safira Allen was arrested and accused of driving under the influence of drugs, felony reckless driving and destruction of county property for driving through the crime scene on Flamingo Road east of Tenaya Way.

Police said she drove around the vehicles and barricades blocking the road, breaking through crime scene tape and nearly striking personnel at the scene.

Police were investigating the death of 28-year-old officer James Manor, who was killed after a truck pulled in front of him while he was responding to a domestic violence call at 12:46 a.m.

Allen was stopped by police volunteers at the scene, and she fled on foot. She was arrested a short distance away.

While on the way to the Clark County Detention Center, police said she kicked out the windshield of the patrol vehicle transporting her.
