Woman dies from injuries in Friday morning crash

A woman died Monday from injuries she sustained in a traffic crash days before.

At 1:46 a.m. Friday, Maria Kalpokas-Suarez, 29, was driving north on Valley View Boulevard near Tompkins Avenue when her car struck an unoccupied tour bus parked on the side of the road, according to Las Vegas police.

She was taken to University Medical Center where she died.

Kalpokas-Suarez was not wearing a seat belt when the accident happened, police said.

It was the 29th traffic fatality that the Metropolitan Police Department has handled this year.
