Woman dies in five-car crash

A 38-year-old woman was killed Friday morning in a five-vehicle collision at the corner of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Owens Avenue.

Police said Walter A. Martin was driving a 1999 Buick north on Martin Luther King when he ran a red light and struck a westbound 2001 Ford, killing the driver. Three other cars were involved in the crash, with only one other driver suffering minor injuries.

Martin was arrested and booked on charges alleging felony driving under the influence causing death and drug use.
