Woman dies in head-on collision
A 19-year-old Las Vegas woman died in a head-on collision Thursday afternoon in the south valley, Las Vegas police said.
The identity of the dead woman was not released.
The two-car crash occurred at 1:07 p.m. east of Bermuda Road and North of Cactus Avenue.
Police said the unidentified woman was driving a 1994 Toyota Corolla west on Pyle Avenue. It crossed the painted center lane divider into the eastbound travel lanes of Pyle.
A 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix in the eastbound right lane was hit head on by the Corolla near the Amigo Street intersection, police said.
The Grand Prix's 20-year-old female driver and a 19-year-old male passenger sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the Corolla died at the scene.
The incident marked the 47th traffic fatality under the jurisdiction of Las Vegas police.
